I’ve enjoyed writing One Book Two Book, but unfortunately, life and work have gotten very busy and I have to pass the torch to a new author. I hope you’ve enjoyed reading my reviews, interviews, etc. during my time with you here. I know the new authors (yes, there will be co-bloggers on One Book Two Book going forward which means even more great content for the readers) will do a wonderful job! When I was approached to review “Letter of Love from China” on One Book Two Book, I was struck by how unique this book is. To summarize, “Letter of Love from China” is a letter from a Chinese birth mom to her birth daughter explaining her love for her. This is a perfect book for any family who was lucky enough to add another member through adoption of a child from China.

Here’s how to enter the contest to win a copy of “Letter of Love from China” autographed by the author, Bonnie Cuzzolino:

Leave a comment on this post before 11:59pm Saturday, May 17th (Eastern Time). One comment per email address please.
Each comment will be entered into a drawing, and one winner will be selected randomly from those entries.
The winner will be contacted via email, so please be sure you leave a valid email address with your comment. Please leave your email address in the box under your name instead of in the comment section.

Curious Kids Guides – Educational, Colorful and Fun

This weekend, my kids picked out a new book at the library, Dinosaurs (Curious Kids Guides). The book is written as a reference book for elementary school-aged children, but my 3-year old triplets went crazy for it when my husband read it to them for the first time last night.

Realistic illustrations and cartoons are used to help explain interesting facts about dinosaurs. From “Why was Tyrannosaurus a big mouth?” to “Which dinosaur was a good mother?” and lots more, children will learn about answers to a variety of questions about these prehistoric creatures.

After my husband and I saw how much our kids liked Dinosaurs (Curious Kids Guides), I searched on Amazon to find more books in the series and was happy to find many titles about ancient history, science and more. These books are great, and I definitely recommend them to kids of all ages. Every child is bound to learn something from them!

Reading is Fundamental (RIF.org) and US Airways have teamed up to present a challenge with a contest attached to it via the Read with Kids Challenge. The purpose is to get parents to read with their children.

To enter, simply visit the Read with Kids Challenge web page by May 31st, register and log the number of minutes you spend reading with a child. Winners will be chosen randomly from the entries for the following prizes:

Grand Prize: 4 day/3 night trip for four people to Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida
First Runner-Up: $1500 US Airways gift card valid for travel anywhere US Airways flies

Reading is Fundamental (RIF) is promoting Reading is Fun Week, May 12-18, 2008, by asking parents to visit the RIF.org website for a variety of resources and ideas to help celebrate Reading is Fun Week with their children.

The RIF.org website provides a variety of resources for parents and activities for children such as:

A day-by-day children’s activity calendar for each day of the week
Visitors can send a children’s art e-card to spread the joy of reading
Explore RIF’s literacy activities, including Reading Is Fun bingo.

RIF also provides parents with reading tips, including how to:
