Autism Fathers and Autistic Pride

I find it more than ironic that, this being both Father’s Day and National Autistic Pride Day, my previous post was about a prenatal test to screen for autism embryos. On the very day on which we are celebrating fathers and autistic persons, we learn about a test whose purpose is to make it possible not to be an autism parent.
So, in the interest of striking a positive note, I wish to send out especially warm wishes to all the autism fathers I have been fortunate to get to know, thanks to this blog and to Autismland. First though, I have to salute the autism dad in our household who started his day at 4am bringing in a sick-to-stomach Charlie to the bathroom: HAPPY FATHER’S DAY, JIM! And HAPPY FATHER’S DAY to Aspie Dad, Brett, Dad-NOS, Francois, Jemal, Joseph, Kev, Mike, Robert, Shaun, Vincent, Wade, my own dad, my father-in-law, and many, many others. And to Michael McCarron and, especially, to Paul McCarron.

Happy Father’s Day and Autistic Pride day, indeed!
I hope Charlie feels better soon.
Thanks! Happy Autistic Pride Day to Charlie, and happy Father’s Day to his dad.
Hey Thanks! Happy Father’s Day to all!
Hope you dads had the best of days!
