Autismland Wins 2 Blog Awards

In the wake of the April 5th Oprah show on autism, the discussion here has centered on vaccines, the causes of autism, the organization Autism Speaks—and I wanted to pause, just for a short post, to mention where it all starts for me: My son who has autism, Charlie who I started to write about online on Autismland in June of 2005. I have stopped writing on Autismland and kept it up as a sort of archive. Recently, some honors have been bestowed on Autismland, as a Mother’s Day Central Top 100 Mom Blogs in the “health conditions” category, and as a recipient of a Thinking Blogger Award thanks to The Life That Chose Me.
I have stopped writing Autismland but such news called for a post, and here it is: Autismland gets 2 awards.
Whatever we think caused our child to become autistic—-whatever we think about autism—the experience of an autistic person is at the center, and, too, the experiences of those who care for the autistic person. I have my opinions and beliefs about various autism issues and it has been good to write about these here on Autism Vox—but I would not be able to do this without Charlie, needless to say; without the good life that Jim and I are privileged to share with him.
And now, back to the soapbox.

Congratulations! Both very well deserved!
You’re one of my all time top-mom-thinking blogger friends and always on the list!—I noted you had the award and thought I’d note others—-
Congratulations Kristina!!
You deserve many more awards!!! Your determination to portray life in Autismland honestly but always, always with love is outstanding. You remind me of this little “energizer bunny” we see on TV. I know that your readers more than appreciate all that you do.
If I had a big award, I would present it to you. I don’t have such an award, so I will say a very heartfelt “Thank You”.
I second all the comments above!
congatulations!!!!!!
Congratulations! I keep coming back for more, awards or no awards. Thanks for sharing your lives through your blog(s).
Mazel tov!
