Next in our series on brain fog featuring b5 media bloggers, is Julie Bonner. Julie writes Declutter It! for b5 media. And as a self professed clutter-phobe, I should be paying a lot more attention to her really great advice (Julie, I will be stalking your site a lot over the next little while…I am a little behind in my spring cleaning).
When I asked my fellow bloggers if they ever have problems with brain fog, Julie had this to say:
my brain fog: remembering people’s names. the other day me and the fam were eating out and we knew the table of people behind us. “knew” them meaning I recognized their faces. as we were talking to them, my oldest daughter turned to me and said “mom, what are their names?”
OK this is a problem that everyone deals with at some point (well, fortunately not me….I can remember everyone’s names, except for my own
). So, when asked what she does about dealing with this type of foggy brain, Julie’s answer came in the form of this:
Ugh! i couldn’t remember so i pretended like i didn’t hear her and when she asked me again i told her is wasn’t polite to interupt people while they were talking. bad parent moment, i know. i explained to her later to please not ask me people’s names in front of them because there is a 99% chance that i have no earthly idea. but i bet you that they didn’t know our names either.
I have no idea how to handle a situation like this. I suppose I would do exactly the same thing. Well at least now, I have some idea how to handle it, just in case it does happen to me.
