Baby Shampoo Makes a GREAT Hand Soap

Did you know that baby shampoo is a great item to refill your liquid soap dispenser with? Well it is! Just mix it one part baby shampoo to two or three parts water (experiment to see what you like). Add a couple of drops of lavender essential oil for a natural germ killer and to make it smell nice.
Lavender is a natural relaxant but it also is an asset to infection control. Handwashing with a milder soap helps your hands in other ways as well.
Not only is this method of creating handwashing soap very inexpensive but it keeps you away from the antibacterial hand soaps which are very, very, very bad for you.
Baby shampoo is gentle and easy on your skin so your hands won’t dry out either. After you wash your hands, rub a tiny amount of organic coconut oil on them to keep them soft and unchapped this winter.
This way, you don;t need to worry if you toddler gets into it, or if someone accidentally gets it in their mouth, or if you happen to rub your eyes while washing up. It’s all good! Use organic baby shampoo for the best results, as well as the lowest environmental impact, unless you are making it yourself.

This is an idea that I’m gonna try. I don’t like to have antibacterial soap in my house. I don’t want my children using it. I’ll have to come up with a different “smell” than lavender oil though… while I love it and put it on both sides of my pillow almost every night, oldest DD can’t stand that scent. Maybe I’ll take her, and let her pick out her own favorite essential oil.
I think lemon is also good for killing germs naturally. Tangerine just smells awesome and it cheers you up…if your daughter is in her early teens THAT can be a nice touch..
believe it or not i was just thinking that baby shampoo had to make a great hand soap because its so gentle. great idea. personally i like lemongrass essential oil for fragrance.
I think so too. Plus some of the organic ones have greast fragrances anyway.
