One of the most common complaints of pain and discomfort during pregnancy is back pain. In fact, 50% to 70% of all pregnant women are reported to have back pain.
The pain can be caused by poor posture, additional body weight, the baby’s position, incorrect lifting, falls, problems lying in bed, or too much sitting with an unsupportive chair. Whatever the reason, it’s important to try to help relieve that pain before it becomes unbearable.
The American Pregnancy Association offers this information about the causes of back pain and management techniques for pregnant women: Back Pain.
