We used to try to rent a place on the 2nd floor; got complaints of Charlie stomping and decided it'd be easier just to rent a whole house. It's a block from the ocean -- we only go to the beach pretty much so it's not far to walk, and no main streets. We've been talking about going to the beach and Charlie's responded by packing his lunchbox----used to do photos but those have not been helping as they did. Do you get pics out of the house a few days prior to going to let Charlie know you are going back? I guess the packing stuff is also an indicator.
