Back to work
I just hired a friend of mine.
Now, before you get all, “You shouldn’t hire friends…” on me, just know that it also happens that she’s done the type of work before, and she’ll pretty much be able to step right in.
But, the catch is that she has 6 kids and this is her first time back to work since having them. I think something about the “on ramp” is supposed to go here, but you get the idea.
Anyway, she started today and is going to work part-time.
I’m very glad that I can offer her some flexibility. We’re experimenting with her work hours, we’ll just have to see what works best since she does have to pick kids up at two different schools.
Given the fact that she was going to go to work whether or not it was with me, I think we both win. I get the assistance I need and she gets the chance to go back to work and use her education and skills.
I just wanted to share an example of someone coming back into the workforce and finding meaningful part-time work that fits in with her family’s schedule.
