Bags from Recycled Billboards

I’m a bag hag. I admit it without shame. If I had to choose between clothes, bags or shoes….bags would win hands down. Not sure where this fetish came from but it’s an obsession I’ve had since I was a child. It’s not as if I was starved for bags back then. Perhaps because my Mom exposed me to bags at such a young, impressionable age! I always visited the cabinet where all her gorgeous bags were stored tee hee :-)

I thought I’ve seen all the bags there is but this is the first time I’ve heard of bags made from recycled billboards! How cool is that? I get to indulge in my favorite item (READ: bags, bags, bags!) and I get to soothe my enviro-conscious mind as well. These bags are created and sold by WAS. WAS is based in New Zealand.

WAS Bags are made from recycled billboards that would ordinarily be destined for the dump. Each bag is hand crafted in New Zealand and are 100% unique.

The vinyl used in billboard construction is developed to withstand the toughest of outdoor conditions making it a durable and hard wearing material.

So you too can do what billboards were designed to do…stop traffic!

Reduce. Recycle. Reuse.

In India you will see many homes covered with old hoardings. (Hoarding is the British / Indian way to say billboard, a much more descriptive term given the consumerism that most large signs promote.)
