Like all Baha’i Houses of Worship, this large domed temple north of Chicago, has nine sides. It was built in the 1930s.  It is surrounded by gardens and several fountains.

The Baha’i faith states that all of humanity is one single race and that humanity must unify into one global society and reaffirm the basic ethical principles common to most religions.  One core belief is the abandonment of all forms of prejudice.
