Baked Chop Suey

I’m always looking for a new way to use hamburger, and this recipe was an old one that’s been handed down from my granny. I tried it and it was a nice weekday meal (meaning that it was easy to do and the family seemed to like it.) Here’s what you need:

baked-chop-suey

1 pound hamburger
1 c. chopped celery
1 c. chopped onion
1/2 c. rice
4 T. soy sauce
1 can cream of chicken soup
1 c. water

Cook and drain hamburger. Combine ingredients and add them to meat. Put the entire lot in a 2 quarter baking dish and cook at 375 for about an hour. If you feel like it, water chestnuts can also be added to this, as can chow mein noodles.
