Balcony of Fun

It’s hot out today with a slight breeze going through the air so the girls took total advantage of it. Last night we had the storm shoot through here and now have the gorgeous after weather, at least that’s what we call it.

Not a single child played outside though on our street so instead of going down two flights of stairs the girls begged me to play out on the balcony. Now before anyone worries, I’m right there with them and they are only allowed right by the back door.
In the picture you can see them coloring away in their coloring books, about ten minutes later they had the chalk and were writing messages and drawing each other all over the place. One quick bowl of water and a broom erases this away and once dry they can go back out.

Tomorrow we are planning on using the chalk tools for the sidewalk out front. The Chalk tools are made by Crayola (which I love and trust) and has 1 Tri-Writer, 1 Flip Grip, 1 wide writer, 1 blender and the chalks. It was on sale for $5 at Walmart, marked down from $7.

We love spending time on our deck/balcony. We give Truman the hose (or now, he just takes it) and he waters the plants and he always ends up getting drenched. When he was 2 1/2 we had one of those metal tubs out there and he filled it up with water and laid in it, fully clothed.
And I love the chalk toys. I’ve been curious about the sidewalk paints. Have you used them?
Oh I love summer days! My kids get hours out of sidewalk chalk. They love to make street signs and lines and ride their bikes around these obsticle courses they make!! Fun times are ahead!
