It’s almost canning season in the Midwest. Berry season is less than a month away. That means it’s time to get those Ball jars out of the basement or garage, wash them, and find lids for them. Ball, has been making canning jars since 1884, and is still the leading manufacturer of home canning products in the United States.

In honor of their anniversary, the company is hosting an exhibit of classic Ball jars, “Can it! 125 Years of the Ball Jar,” from now until August 23, 2009 at the Minnestrista Cultural Center in Muncie, Indiana – the home of Ball jars since 1884 and where the Ball products are produced to this day.

Muncie is located about an hour’s drive northeast of Indianapolis. For more about Ball jars and the exhibit, visit the Ball Web site.
