Bananas can be your friend

I wrote about eating a half of a banana as part of my lunch the other day and didn’t think twice. I don’t know if I was half asleep or just expecting that everyone follows the same rules as me. I have always eaten bananas and have never had issues with them raising my bloodsugar to astounding proportions. Am I lucky or do others also share in this?
I have kept up to date on all of the dietary guidelines and such related to diabetes and have always read that diabetics should also strive for their five a day as well. A medium size banana is considered one serving of fruit and has approximately 25-30 grams of carbohydrates in it. If you pair that with a low carb yogurt, rolled turkey or a cup of coffee you are right on track.
There was a comment left to the degree of- “we shouldn’t eat bananas”. I have spent some time researching this further, yes I love that yellow fruit, and found that my thought process is right on. Grapes and bananas can be eaten as 1 serving of your fruits or veggies a day. Whew, I got nervous for a sec that I was all alone.
Do you eat ‘nanners? Do you have any problems with them? Curious here, share with me.

I have been on a one a banana a day habit since moving to another country last year. I think that it really has helped even out my blood sugar levels. Last year my blood sugar was borderline high during a routine physical and I read an article that said bananas help the body control the digestions of sugars. When I bought the right kind banana last week, I did start having problems: dizziness and two days this week with Migraines just before lunchtime – low blood sugar? Eating the plaintains helped a little but I am off to the store to get real bananas.
