It was the Bangkok Metropolitan Adminitration, or the BMA, which spearheaded such a move and it happened last Wednesday when all the lights across the city were turned off. This was their move so as to help spread the campaign on battling climate change and global warming which has become such a hot issue.
The city was covered in darkness for around 15 minutes. It also did serve as a way for the city’s officials to tell the citizens just about what electricity does so as to even aggravate the global warming situation.
Governor Apirak Kosayodhin of Bangkok shares, “We hope our contribution will not only help people in Bangkok, but also the whole of Thailand, and of course other countries. Global warming is a world issue.” He also did disclose that had signed the BMA Declaration of Cooperation on Alleviating Global Warming Problems which also included 35 other organizations.
