Barack Rockstar (McCain’s VP a Woman?)

I was completely wooed last night by Barack Obama. He’s like a political rock star.
He says everything I want to hear. When he speaks I feel like I believe his intentions are where they are supposed to be. He shares my values.
Truly, I believe his plan is the best one economically. He’s a long-term thinker. I’ve no interest in short-term profits – I’m interested in long-term economic thinking that looks at the country as a whole and focuses on the middle class.
I was converted completely during his speech.
I was moved. Heartened. I “drank the Kool-Aid.” He speaks to my soul.
I like being called to my higher self. I like the country being called to its higher self.
I ate it up.
Then after Barney ended CNN came on they were talking about Sarah Palin, 44-year-old female Governor of Alaska and mother of five children, being John McCain’s Vice President.
Sarah Palin VP would muddy the waters for me.
I’m emailed Michelle at Scribbit – who blogs as a mother from Alaska – to find out more about this woman. Here’s what Michelle says about her own governor:
Oh we just woke up to the news, they been buzzing with speculation here for weeks the possibility of this happening.
I’ve been impressed with her work as governor so far, she’s been wildly popular here. It can’t help but be good for my home state, it’s always great to have a friend in high places, and I think she’s done a fine job so far–did you know she gave birth in March to a baby with Down’s Syndrome?
But on the other hand I think McCain is buying a pretty face (she’s very attractive and earlier this year did a spread in Vogue) who is famous for being popular and very conservative. McCain is so moderate that by many conservative’s standards he’s hardly considered a Republican and this would certainly balance him out a bit. An interesting move on his part to go with an unknown from a state that can’t bring him any electoral advantage.

I tried to get an interview with her back in March before her baby was due when the legislative session ended here and she went back to her home in Wasilla. I don’t think I’d be able to get one now
you can’t even get onto her website right this minute.
I wasn’t sure whether you wanted me to use your name. I’ll go edit it in now.
CNN claims it is now confirmed by John McCain’s campaign that Sarah Palin is his VP.
5 minutes in and CNN is questioning her motherhood abilities, saying she might be neglecting her downs syndrome baby by running for vp.
it doesn’t matter if she’s a republican – she’s still a woman and she’ll get the same harsh treatment.
everyone was in tears 2 nights ago that Biden rode the train home to see his kids every night when their mother died. no one suggested he should actually quit.
