I go barefoot almost all the time; it’s one of the perks of working from home. But, I have also ended up with problems because of my habit of not wearing footwear – stubbed toes, broken toes, broken glass and sun burns on the top of my feet. Let me assure you that sunburns on the top of your feet hurt! And the pain from a broken toe can be incredibly intense, especially when you do have to wear shoes after. As luck would have it, it’s usually the next day you need to go somewhere and going barefoot really isn’t an option. And isn’t it amazing how often you bang a broken toe? It’s like it’s a magnet for more bumping after it’s broken than before.
So, I wasn’t really surprised to stumble across these health tips from Medline Plus: Barefoot Lifestyle Has Its Dangers.
I guess this is a case of do as I say, not as I do.
