Baring It All For Autism

100 women get naked for autism?—–that is, as far as I can tell from this photo, 100 naked women (naked autism mothers, perhaps?) appear to be lying on the grass to spell out the word AUTISM.
It certainly is another way to “raise autism awareness.”
In light of recent TV appearances by celebrity autism mothers, it appears that we may be hearing, or rather seeing, more of such “naked truths,” or even some half-naked ones.

HOLY SCHNIKIES!!!
ROFL! Did you watch the video? VERY FUNNY. Got to give them credit for a creative and cheeky (pun intended) idea to raise money!
I also saw the 100 women getting naked for autism. Which i thought was great until i looked at the website and they want to send thier daughter on a programme so she will ‘recover’ from autism.

Nearly any [parental/caregiver] behaviour seems acceptable when it’s for “curing” or “recovering” another from autism. It doesn’t seem to matter what the autie, themself, may feel/think or what impact these “parental sacrifices” will have on the autistic individual in the future.
I’m afraid, when it comes to some, that Bettelheim was actually on to something with his discarded theory.
“Here, honey, get in the HBOT this.very.second. Mumsy had to pose nude to buy the g/d thing for you and you aregoing in it!”
I kind of thought recovery would be behind it……
Oh well, it was a cute idea…too bad it wasn’t for education!
I have to wonder if others might copy the idea!
Hope not unless it sends the right message. We need to change the world, not change our kids!
One step at time—and after these two weeks, it seems that there is going to be a lot of re-educating to do.
Is it that bad? It looked like ABA meets Son-Rise to me. I didn’t dig, though.
