Beach Babe

Gus loved the warm Florida sun and sand…so much that he decided to head out on his own. I allowed him to, knowing he could not go far. Really, is he going to travel into the frigid ocean or crawl down miles of beach? And, knowing him, he would never go farther than five feet from me.

Just moments after my mother took this picture we saw a family of dolphins swim down the beach, jaunting in and out of the surf. They were amazingly serene. So at home in front of the crowd of people gazing at their beauty. As we watched, one of the parents gently slid up toward the sand and bared it’s belly to the onlookers, then turned silently to rejoin it’s calf.
