Beat The Heat With A Snow Cone Maker!

As a kid, my favorite summer treat was an Icee. I loved all the flavors – especially cherry. It was a tradition of ours to drive down to Weigel’s on a hot summer day and and buy the biggest size for us kids, which we would eat quickly on the way home, giving ourselves brain freeze.
Of course, now I wouldn’t dream of touching an Icee, let alone eating one, because of all the sugar. However, I have had cravings for something sweet and icy now that’s it’s hot. So, I went to Wal-Mart and bought a snow cone maker.
The kind I bought (Rival) was less than $30 and there were also sugar-free syrups to be had (the only flavors I saw were blue raspberry and cherry, but you can buy all kinds online). The ice shaved into something very fine, in no time. The syrups have only 5 calories and are made with Ace-K and aspartame.
This is my idea of a guilt-free treat that tastes like the real thing!
You can find Rival and other snow cone makers at Amazon – most of them are reasonably priced.

Sure could have used one of these last week. I also like the idea of just a few calories. Not bad at all. How many treats come in at that number!!
Thanks for the idea.
Oh, I have one of these, and my four year old son and I both love it! YUMMY.
You should get the sugar free green apple flavor. It’s really good.
Mmm, sounds good!
I just ordered some sugar-free margarita mix. I plan to use it in my snow cones sans the alcohol. I just like the way it tastes!
