Beauty Prompts

After reading Shai’s entry on What Makes You Feel Attractive? I began to think about beauty, attraction in relation to my own journal writing.
The idea of beauty is an interesting prompt by itself. What is beauty to you? Is beauty skin deep? Is there such a thing as a beautiful soul? Do you consider yourself beautiful?
I googled the phrase “What is beauty?” and felt this definition: the qualities that give pleasure to the senses needed further thought. Is beauty only about the senses? Do you agree with this definition? Write your own definition of beauty in your journal.
When it comes to attraction; does beauty even matter? Is attraction only about the senses? Is something deeper happening when it comes to what draws you to others and others to you?
Dove has an interesting prompt on their website, which relates to these prompts.
Here’s a more scientific approach with a cool exercise to do, which you might like to use in your journal.
Turn Beauty Inside Out is an excellent campaign aimed at helping young people determine what real beauty is and to counteract the negative images the media promotes about beauty.
Finally, respond to the question Shai poses; what makes you feel attractive, more specifically, what makes you feel beautiful?
