Before Going Into the Hospital

If you’re wondering about what you should be aware of before entering the hospital, we have a giveaway you’ll be interested in.
Few of us wake up in the morning expecting to be hospitalized, yet the Agency for Healthcare reports that 55 percent of all hospitalizations begin in the emergency room. Are you prepared? In this era of medical errors and hospital acquired infections, do you know how to keep yourself and your loved ones safe?

To help prepare yourself, we’re giving away a copy of the film, “Things You Should Know Before Entering the Hospital.” This 22-minute, step-by-step guide to help people be safe while hospitalized can help us all prepare for that unexpected, never convenient and often frightening occurrence of becoming hospitalized.
A convenient checklist is included with each DVD or VHS so that patients can take it with them when they go into the hospital. The film addresses questions like: How do I avoid infection? Why is hand washing so important? Why do I need an advocate? How can I avoid medication errors? How can I avoid wrong-site surgery?
To enter the giveaway, leave a comment on this post by Wednesday, April 15th. I’ll choose a winner at random and announce the lucky guy or gal the next day.

I need this DVD We make visits to the ER often with our 4 kids
sounds informative !
Well, who would have thought of it? What a fine idea. It’s just like putting your seat belt on before driving to work. You could leave if off, but you never know what’s gonna happen, do you. Good old Girl Scout motto: Be Prepared!
Spent a lot of time in the hospital. Curious as to what you have to say!
Sounds very interesting. Thanks for the giveaway.
This would be good information to have on hand “just in case.” Thanks for the giveaway.
This could really go either way, I’d like to see what the author thinks.
We’d love this. I already know a few scarey things that go on at hospitals. Knowledge is the key.
Last time I was in the hopsital I caught an infection. They kept my IV in too long (3 days) and then I needed 6 weeks of drip anti biotics. All their fault and couldn’t do a darn thing about it- but pay to have that taken care of too!
I hate anything medically related and could use this.
hey the more you know
Great for sports/wild life
Thank you for giving me the chance to win this. I will be going into the hospital soon, so this would be very useful.
Sounds useful!

Be prepared!!! I hope none of us would need this, but being informed is always a good thing! Thank you for the opportunity to participate in this giveaway!
I don’t want to have to use this but I’d love the information
This is a great idea! Isn’t it sad that we have to worry about all kinds of things that could go wrong while also worrying about whatever brought us to the hospital in the first place?
I visit the ER Quite often With diabetes related problems
need to read as mother ages and needs more care and lots of time in hosp,
I have been in the hospital a dozen times or more in the last 6 years.
I still have to go back.
I never have understood my rights or how to handle things.
I would love to become more educated on the matter.
