Believe it or not, the privately-held Jim Pattison Group has acquired Guinness World Records from HIT Entertainment. The amount of the acquisition remains a secret.
Pattison Group already holds Ripley Entertainment, which publishes The fantastic and amazing World of Ripley’s Believe It or Not®. The book displays the offbeat findings of Robert Ripley and rivals Guinness in its sensationalism.
In addition to the Book of World Records, Guinness has interest in other media formats and operates Guinness museums in Tokyo, Japan; Surfers Paradise, Australia; Copenhagen, Denmark; San Francisco, CA; San Antonio, TX; Niagara Falls, Canada; Hollywood, CA; Atlantic City, NJ; Myrtle Beach, SC and Gatlinburg, TN.
i remember having the guinness book in 3rd grade. Great stuff. I still remember the longest limo and the guy with the longest fingernails.
