The crockpot is a lifesaver any time of the year, but it’s especially fabulous during a football game. You can pop something in and relax and enjoy the game. No worrying about slaving over the stove. Here are a couple of the favorite crockpot recipes I use during football season.

Beef Stew with Sweet Potatoes
This recipe uses sweet potatoes, which give it a hardy, sweet flavor.
Company Casserole Recipe
This recipe is on the order of a jambalaya type of dish that includes chicken with shrimp. You can also add sausage if you’d like. It’s a nice “put it on and forget it” type of recipe. You can also let it stay hot so people can have bits while the game is on.
Black Bean and Pork Tenderloin Slow Cooker Chili
The pork and black beans are a great combination of flavors in this dish.
Heavenly Ham Casserole
This is an especially great recipe if you’ve got leftover ham to use up. It works well on a cold day – perfect for football weather!
Hamburger Vegetable Soup
I love the combination of hamburger and veggies, and this soup makes for a nice half-time treat!
Chocolate Peanut Butter Chip Cake
I don’t often make dessert in the crockpot, but sometimes during a football game I’ll set this on because it will be done by the end of the game and makes the house smell great. At the end of the game, you can serve your guests a hot dessert without having to fuss.
