If you want to inspire some gardening love in your child; pint-sized gardening gear will make a fab gift this holiday season. Luckily, there’s a wide range of gardening supplies out there that’s made just for kids. Below are 5 cool garden-minded toys, kits and tools for budding future gardeners.

Green Toys Indoor Gardening Kit – made eco-friendly with recycled milk jugs, this great little toy set comes with a pea pod shaped garden tray, three wee pots, a garden trowel, organic seeds, and soil. The whole set is packaged in recyclable materials.
Alex My Wooden Flower Press – this award winning kit comes with a 7″ wooden flower press that your child can paint plus blotting paper, paints, brushes, tweezers, wooden beads, craft glue, hemp, hole punch and easy instructions.

The Root Viewer Kit is really fun – my son has this and loved watching the roots take shape. The kit includes three heavy-duty viewers, a wooden stand, onion, carrot and radish seeds, growing medium, simple instructions and a growing journal so your child can measure how long it takes for the roots to grow long.
Build-A-Greenhouse Kit – with this kit your child can assemble and paint their very own little greenhouse, decorate it, then grow some plants.
If you’re looking for child sized gardening tools, for a kid who loves to help in the garden already, don’t buy plastic junk, take a look at Ames brand kids’ tools which are downsized for young hands and arms, but quality-built for big (and real gardening) jobs.

Many years ago, well just a few really my outlook on things green and how people used to live were none existent. I carn’t believe how much i have changed or is just that i’m getting older. Alls i know is that my thoughts on these ideas have changed. I would love to live in a world where there’s no money or rat race and we live in proper communities where we all share and brew our own beer and grow veg and sooner the better but that will probably never happen.shame though it would be a great way to live and bring up our children. Please let me know i am not the only one who feels like. It’s just a crazy place that the modern world lives in most of the time. Sorry if i bored any one, didnt mean to. Bye Carl
Excellent!
Garden gifts are a fantastic idea – i think it makes for healthy and knowledgeable activities. Another idea for stocking stuffers is something that you would only buy for your child. Personalized gifts that is.
Great read and great ideas!
That is so funny that you wrote about gardening for kids! I work with Fast Growing Trees Nursery, and we just published a website dedicated to sharing ideas on how parents can teach kids about gardening. I’d love to hear what you think about our site:
