Best of 2006, sort of

Okay, so today’s Theme Day topic is Best of 2006. I didn’t think I could actually do a Top Ten list, since really, I wrote about eleven posts total in 2006, but turns out I liked about ten of them after all. A pattern has developed here, in that the ones I enjoyed writing the most are the ones that really have the least amount of useful information to share. Go figure.

themeday.gifI am not a smart man. – I just didn’t understand what this was saying. I’m still not sure I do. Note the forbidden period in the title, apparently a no-no according to the Rules of Effective Bloggery. I’m a rebel!

A few personal thoughts. – On an encounter with another diabetic, on World Diabetes Day. And again with the period.

This post has nothing to do with diabetes. – I got busted making a snotty joke about someone’s name. Is it just me, or did I break that “no period” rule in just about every entry I posted in 2006? Things aren’t looking too good for 2007, either.

Five Tips for Dodging the Beedies – They were useful tips (meaning, of course, that I got them from someone else), and I got to mention “poo” AND products that “taste like butt”. No punctuation in the title, though. I have to draw the line somewhere.

Mission Statements and the Women Who Love Them – A Theme Day entry, in which I shared the deeply-felt principles by which I live in writing this blog. Although actually, I made them all up on the spot.

Top Ten Things No One Tells You About the Stupid Beedies Before the Universe Up and Gives It to You – Important to note because this time, I came up with this list on my own. (Not coincidentally, I think about three of the list items are actually relevant to anyone else.)

Diabetic woman gives birth to really, really, really, really, REALLY big baby – Okay, it was sort of a throw-away post. But between the title and the graphic I used (the cover of a book called The Attack of the Giant Baby, featuring an angry infant destroying the Chrysler Building), I cracked myself up.

Like Chuck E. Cheese, with insulin – The Circle of Life Camp in New York for diabetic kids, got me all teary-eyed and weepy. Boo hoo hoo, everyone mock the weepy little man!

Breakfast with Rob – Because everyone loves drugs!

I am a diabetic. – Who uses periods in my blog post titles.

An in my journal, almost all my titles end in THREE periods… So there you go. ;-)
