Better to have loved and lost…

than to have never loved at all?

Is there anyone who really believes that garbage? Or are you like me and believe it’s one of those old clichés that people say just to get a person to shutup when they’ve had their heart stepped on like a June bug in July and are stuck in whine mode.

Perhaps I’m a bit too cynical when it comes to love, but I honestly don’t know of one ex that was truly worth the pain of heartbreak for me to say I was better off because of it. Nope, not one!

Oh sure, I believe there’s bound to be heartbreak when it comes to the whole dating thing, isn’t that what Ben and Jerry’s was invented for?

If you have a better to have loved and lost story you’d like to share, feel free… as for me, I’ll stick with Ben and Jerry’s.

I’d like to thank one of my already loyal readers for this submission. Though she would like to remain anonymous, she’ll know who she is! Thanks T!

We’d love to hear from you too! If it’s got to do with dating, we’ve got the place for it!

Cynical! i can think of another word…just kidding. I know what you mean by past relationships not being what they were all cracked up to be, but I am one of those people who has used that phrase and believe it. Only because to give your love is the best gift you could give to anyone…what they do with it we cannot control, but I’d rather love and lose then to be bitter and not know how to give love when the time comes. I have friends that were hurt so bad that they put up a wall and have probably passed up many good opportunities for good relationships out of fear!
