Blast From the Past: Wedding Bells

My second favorite holiday is the Fourth of July because my husband and I celebrate our wedding anniversary on July 3rd.

People always say that holidays are a horrible time to get married because guests have to travel with higher travel rates, that families and friends have traditions they don’t want to break, and all around it can be considered tacky.

Our wedding day fell on a Saturday with the Fourth of July on a Sunday. Many people attending our wedding actually had both Friday and Monday off because of the way the Fourth fell and it worked out great. Both my parents and my husband’s parents hosted Fourth of July events at their respective homes on the Fourth and we took off on our honeymoon.

It was a fabulous weekend, a hell of a party, and a beautiful day.
