Blessed relief – neck pain is fading

March 25, 2008 by Marijke Durning, RN

I’d say let’s have a party to celebrate, but I’m afraid of doing anything that might aggravate my neck pain again. Suffice it to say, I feel much better now and am seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. As the saying goes, I just hope it’s not an on-coming train.

I still have some pain, but the worst of it – the sharpest part – is gone. During the day, it was actually bearable (barely!) but it was at its worst when I was lying down. It reminded me of when I dislocated my shoulder many years ago. It hurt during the day but was bearable when I wore my sling – but lying in bed at night, with no support on the shoulder, it hurt like there was no tomorrow.

So, hopefully, tomorrow will be even better. I do wish I knew what caused it so I could avoid doing that to myself again, but I guess it’s just one of those things.

Now, back to living my life properly!
