Blogging and Weight Loss

How often do you share your weight loss goals with other people? Do you blab it to everybody who will listen? Or do you keep your goals to yourself, silently intent on reaching them without a lot of cheering and encouragement from others?
Maybe you don’t share your goals verbally because you are afraid of your own failure. But that’s just not good enough. Sharing your weight loss goals will help keep you accountable for your actions, making you more prone to sticking to your weight loss plan.
One easy way to share your goals with others is to write about it. Lots of weight losers out there have learned how fun it can be to keep a blog about their weight loss. Here are some reasons why:
Write instead of eat
Keeping a blog about your weight loss goals and progress can be a huge diversion if you tend to nibble or eat when you aren’t really hungry. When you get the munchies, log on and write a new blog entry instead of grabbing that bag of chips.
Stir your own excitement
Blogging about your weight loss is great for helping you to get or stay excited about losing weight. The more time you put into your weight loss blog, the larger your community of regular readers will become. They’ll get excited right along with you and help cheer you on or encourage you.
Set and keep your weight loss goals
A weight loss blog is an extremely helpful tool in helping you set and keep your weight loss goals. Again, blogging is a method of accountability. When you know there are people reading your blog, watching your progress, and learning from your own weight loss journey, you will find it isn’t so easy to slip and fall. You will be more on point and much more likely to stick to your healthier lifestyle and diet because you will want to be able to post positive updates.
Do you blog about your weight loss? If so, leave a link to your blog in the comments below!

I don’t blog about my weight loss, but I do mention it to other people on occasion. My blog is about technology/productivity, so for the most part, I stick on topic.
However, I do mention my success with friends and family members sometimes, to vocalize my pleasure at losing weight!
I do!
The thing is, I don’t (can’t) talk about my journey with other people right now. It’s such a personal process for me, and frankly I have, for the longest time, been embarrassed by my weight and anything that would draw attention to it (like talking about losing it). It won’t always be this way, but in the meantime, I blog!
As part of my new setup I have the blog itself. And I include all the things that keep me going and motivated – like visual images of fit men, inspirational stories of others who’ve lost weight, and an ongoing tracker of my progress (or actually, lack there of).
My blog’s at http://www.losingweightdaily.com – would love to have y’all come by sometime.
@Ellie: Great!
@LWD: Awesome! I look forward to reading your blog.
