Bloom where you are in your quilting world.  Don’t envy someone else’s talents or success.  Take stock of your own, experiment with something new, develop your unique style.

I’ve seen my daughter move from a traditional quilter to one who now experiments with quilting designs, fabric art, fiber art, dyeing and painting fabric, along with mixed media.  With her fiber arts group, she has been involved in a number of exhibits and a gallery showing.  Her work has won awards and been displayed as far away as Costa Rica.  (If you’d like to see some of it, visit Meandering Threads.)

What about you?  Your work evolves as you learn more about the quilting and fabric art world.  Perhaps you take a new class, see some new techniques demonstrated, and view new and traditional work at shows.

So….develop your talents.  You can become a fascinating fabric artist whether you’re making something solely for your family, to give as a gift, or to display to the world.  There is a need for YOUR work and for you to bloom in your quilting world!
