Blueberry Recipes

Blueberries are good for you? Did you know that? You probably did – it’s no secret. But what is a secret is some of the great recipes you can make with blueberries. I love them but for years only made what I would call “boring” recipes with them. I’d throw the berries in pancakes or on top of cereal and that’s about all I knew how to do.

Now, I’ve got a nice collection of recipes that allow me to use them. I find that the trick in healthier eating is sometimes as simple as learning how to better incorporate healthy foods into your favorite recipes.

Here are a few of my favorite blueberry recipes.

Baked French Toast With Blueberries
There are a couple things I like about this. First, I have put blueberries in pancakes for years, but French toast? I never would have thought of it. Second, this is a dish you can make the night before, which is the perfect Sunday morning rush breakfast food.

Blueberry Crisp
I love the show “Down Home with the Neelys” because it’s fun to watch and they serve great food. This particular recipe is not only yummy but it’s easy to make. (A must for me! While I love to cook I hate cooking complicated dishes.)

Blueberry BBQ
I’m not usually one to make my own BBQ sauce, but we tried this recipe this summer and it was so good I had to share it. It comes from the latest Iron Chef, Michael Symon.

Lemon Blueberry Bread
Blueberries combine very nicely with lemon. The flavors go together very well, and this dish proves it.

Blueberry Turnovers
If you think homemade turnovers are difficult to make, think again! This recipe allows you to use puff pastry, which is really a gift for cooks today. Plus, it’s just a few simple ingredients. I know your family will love it.

Turkey Roll-Ups with Blueberry Salsa
This recipe takes one of my favorite ingredients (curry) and combines it with blueberries and turkey. The flavors are awesome.
