Bollinger…Mmmm, Tiny Bubbles

Bollinger ChampagneSaturday at work I had to call BK for an emergency bubbly run.  It’s a necessity that we have a bottle of sparkling at the end of the busiest day of the week. Even though this particular Saturday was fairly slow, I couldn’t leave our glasses empty.  So I told BK to bring the bottle of Bollinger Special Cuvee I’d been hanging onto for almost a year.  When I gave my very first tour at Rosenblum as a freebie to 25 people taking a wine class, the instructor gave me the Bollinger as a thank you.  And I in turn needed to thank my friends for covering some shifts during my family’s visit.  This Champagne seemed thusly appropriate.

The Bollinger, a first for me, was quite tasty.  Meyer lemon zest, sourdough bread, and golden delicious apples.  Silky with hella bubbles and a creamy finish.  60% Pinot Noir, 25% Chardonnay, and 15% Pinot Meunier, it includes 5 to 10% of reserve wines kept in magnums in the cellars and the rest is aged three years before disgorgement.

Everyone was pleased I decided to share with them, but hey, they deserved it.
