Born in 60 seconds!

When I went into labor with my second child, I was remarkably calm about it. My water broke and I quietly roamed around, packing up some toys for my oldest to take to her grandparents’ house and packed up my own stuff – I had a hospital bag packed but I needed to add last minute items like my toothbrush and contact lens solution.
By the time I was getting in the car, I was less calm because we were about 20 minutes away from the hospital and I was feeling an overwhelming urge to push. Honestly, the whole way there I was sure I was going to end up being that woman on the news who gives birth on the side of the road.
When I got to the hospital no one believed me, thinking I was just a hysterical pregnant woman until they checked and found I was more than 8 cm dilated. I had no time for an epidural and gave birth not long after arriving. It was a Sunday so the roads were empty when we left, but had it been one day later I never would have made it because we would have been stuck in rush hour traffic, guaranteed.
However, as scary as it was at the time, wondering if I’d make it there, it was nothing compared to this woman in this news clip:
She stepped out of a shower, her water broke, and one minute later her baby was born. Insane!
People always wish you a speedy labor, but you know, sometimes it can be a little TOO speedy!
