Bringing up the baby
Bringing up the baby is a blog that’s created by a loyal SuperNanny fan who utilizes and interjects the tools and systems presented by Jo Frost into her everyday life of raising her 2-year-old daughter.
I’ve always found it interesting to see the various opinions of mothers (especially mother’s of toddlers) who have watched a SuperNanny episode or two and are trying to apply the tips to their own parenting.
Have you successfully implimented some of Jo Jo’s tips into your life?
I must admit, taking my kid to the corner 50 times plus isn’t in my nature. I’m more a three strikes YOU ARE OUT kinda parent.
I’ve impletmented Jo’s naughty spot technique. We don’t actually call it the naughty spot but we do call it a “time out.”
What happens is I have my two year old Fiona sit on the fire place. (It’s a brick fireplace) Anyway, I walk to the kitch and set the timer on my microwave for two minutes. For two minutes Fiona has to sit quietly and think about what she did. If she talks or acts up before her two minutes is up I start the timer over. It works!!
I guess she’s not two years old any more. I keep forgetting that she is three now since I’m so used to writing out that she is two.
They grow up too fast.
