Britney Spears’ mom to write parenting book
That’s right, Britney Spears’ mom is going to write a parenting book. As ridiculous as this seems considering the heap of trouble that Britney is personally and parentally, I’m not quite surprised considering that just about any celebrity or their relative who can spell ‘book deal’ is offered one.
My biggest surprise is that the book is not entitled What not to do or How to raise a misguided child. Instead, Lynne Spears is titling the book Pop Culture Mom: A Real Story of Fame and Family in a Tabloid World.
I hope it’s more autobiography than parenting advice. As a writer, but more as a reader, I am sick of reading books that are badly written and full of characters I have no reason to care about…especially when they are “real” people who I once thought might live interesting lives.
Even the best parents have kids that go nuts. Britney became her own person and is responsible for her own decisions. She strikes me as a spoiled brat who just doesn’t get what responsibility is all about.
