Build it and They Will Read: Ages 10-15

Finding projects for teens and tweens can be quite difficult, especially if they are not particularly interested in building another birdhouse.

So, why not help them redecorate their room or remodel the basement space to make it their own entertainment area for themselves and their friends? With the help of a few books (required reading, of course) the kids can do these projects with some supervision from you!

I know that I would have loved to have a teen friendly bedroom when I was a kid, especially one that I had a hand in decorating or one that I physically got to paint and move around. The Kidspace Idea Book: Creative Playrooms Clever Storage Ideas Retreats for Teens Toddler-Friendly Bedrooms This book and The Big Book of Teen Rooms could certainly give your teens good ideas on how to change that kiddy room into a fabulous teen room in just one week (or one summer…depending upon how fast they really work).

Creative Kids’ Murals You Can Paint And how cool would it be to have a mural painted in the basement or in the clubhouse outside?

Great ideas, Marcie. My granddaughter is having to do a temporary remodeling of a room for herself because her mom, just home from the hospital and told not to climb stairs, has to use Kara’s on the main floor.
