Buttocks in magazines may be larger than they appear

I’ve had an epiphany which isn’t really an epiphany at all, especially given that I knew it all along.  Yet somehow, it’s finally sunk into my crazed little mind.

Photos on and within the covers of magazines have been highly doctored.

(I know, I know.  You’re going to say, “Duh.  Tell me something new, Angelique.”  I get it.)

Yes, I understood this was the case for many years, but over the past few days, I’ve found myself standing in line at the grocery store, looking at popular publications and literally asking myself (silently, so as not to attract too much attention, of course), “I wonder what these stars and starlets really look like?”

It’s so obvious now that my mind has accepted the fact that Photoshopping is widespread… that Eva Longoria’s hips may be “shaved” just a tad… that Jennifer Aniston’s physique may have been tailored to fit the mood of the mag.

Amazing.  I finally “get it” 100%.  This could be the start of something incredible… the acceptance of what a REAL body honestly looks like.

*gulp*

So why am I scared?

Perhaps you are scared because of what this has meant for you after all the years of starving and striving for something you wanted so badly… but never existed. The “perfect” beautiful body. If it is all a fabrication, then what is there left to strive toward?
