Button, Button, Who’s Got the Button

Button Jar

It’s time, again, for another easy, but worth it, how-to.

The above picture is of my wife’s button jar.  What used to be stored in this dim jar?  Yeast.  But now, it holds buttons, buttons, and–more buttons.

There you go!

  1. Isn’t it interesting… the containers that have been used over the years to store buttons? My mom had a button jar. I have a button jar that previously held peanut butter. I also store buttons in tin containers.

  2. I think it is interesting. I may put up a post that says something like “button containers throughout the ages.”

It has a certain ring to it, don’t you think?

  3. I found a perfect button container at a yard sale. It is an old mason jar. It has a glass lid with a metal handle that holds the lid on. I have it sitting in an old coca-cola crate box/shelf on the wall.

  4. That sounds pretty inventive, Karen. (or should I call you “Thrifty?”)

Do you have a picture of the shelf to share? (Posted or otherwise?) I’d be happy to organize a guest post…

Here’s my post. My buttons were only $1 :), my coca-cola box was $5 (bought many years ago), and my jar was $2. Cheers to being thrifty!

I have some pics I could share of my soda boxes and bottles too.

  6. Thanks for the link–I highly recommend your site in general!

  7. Thanks! I just discovered your site through the merge.
