Cadbury Recalls After Concerns Over Chinese Production

Cadbury recalled candy made in its Beijing plant after initial testing showed that some products contained melamine. The recall affects Cadbury chocolate products sold in Australia, Taiwan and Hong Kong. I heard a report on the radio earlier this morning stating that the candy was being taken off of British shelves as well.
This is a story that is getting buried due to financial disasters and politics as usual and that can be a very scary thing. There have been no recalls in the United States or elsewhere, but I say don’t wait to get that recall. I worry due to the chaos around and the horrendous track of tainted products making their way onto shelves that there may be reason to be worried about what we are eating.
Halloween is just around the corner as well as the major Holiday Season. So I urge you to take a close look at the packaging on all the candy, especially chocolate, that you purchase. If it says the word China anywhere on the package, just put it back and move on.
