Career and Kids 2.0
Well, hi there. Happy New Year!
I’m not Mike. I guess you noticed that by now. Of course.
He’s taller than I am n’ stuff, so it’s obvious. But, people do get us confused sometimes, so don’t feel bad.
So, I have been given the honor of following Mike here at Career and Kids, since he chose to concentrate on Be a Good Dad. I have enjoyed reading during his time here, and, I hope I can make him proud and carry on the tradition he has begun.
Thanks for all your work, Mike, and, I hope you’ll come by and see us.
Anyway, my name is Elizabeth. (Hi, Elizabeth!).
I am the proud author of b5 Media’s GenBetween where I blog about being in the Sandwich Generation, and, I am also exposing myself (not like that, silly) as the author of Busymom.net. Yes, that one is several minutes of your life that you won’t get back, I know, but, I keep doing it, anyway.
So, what makes me qualified to be here at Career and Kids? I suppose because I meet both requirements of the title.
I am a married mother of 3 school-age children, and, both my husband and I work full-time outside the home.
No, I’m not positive about the proper way to say that, so I hope I haven’t offended anyone. I just mean that we both have to put on decent shoes, drive in rush hour every morning, sit at a desk, and, get a paycheck once a month.
I know it used to be a guy’s perspective here, and, I’m sensitive to that. Though I’m not a guy, I do want to make sure I look at things from a working parent’s perspective, I don’t want to make it just another working mom blog.
I’m not an authority on having a career and children, but, I do it every day, and, I look forward to sharing my experiences with you, and, I hope we can all learn from each other.
While I get settled in here, please let me know what you’d like to see covered around here, I welcome all suggestions.

Good luck, Elizabeth. I was happy to see somebody take over so quickly. Have fun with the new blog and I look forward to reading it.
Harsh. You only get paid once a month?
Oh, wait. Me too. Unless you count that joint bank account.
Welcome to your new blog Elizabeth. Mike hope you still stick around and comment!
Welcome to your new digs, busylady.
Yay! I love this topic, seeing as I have both a career and kids.
Now, Sarah over at http://www.hayllar.com/ee has coined the term “Outhouse mom” for us working moms, which I think is a hoot.
Looking forward to reading more!
