Caring for the caregiver

If you are a caregiver, it’s likely people are always telling you to “take time for yourself”, and I know (oh how I know) it’s much easier said than done.

There’s lots of advice on caring for the caregiver, but often it seems simplistic, unrealistic or extremely self-evident.

Agingcare.com looks at Balancing Your Personal Life and Caregiving with some practical advice and reminders.

I liked the article because I was hooked on one of the first sentences: “A minor medical emergency makes it impossible for you to get to work all morning, or to focus when you do. That was the story of my life for a couple of years.

It has some concrete things you can do to make your life easier as a caregiver without being trite or condescending.
