Take time during February, American Heart Month, to think of your own health, as well as that of your Alzheimer’s patient.  The physical and emotional strain you endure can put a strain on your heart.  Your patient, who may have heart health issues, as well as disability from Alzheimer’s.

Can you help both of you?

Kendra James, at A Hearty Life, reminds us High Blood Pressure Among Women on the Rise – Rapidly!  She also asks readers, in a questionnaire, “When was the last time you had your blood pressure checked?”

Also, if you’re a male caregiver of an Alzheimer’s family member, have you taken time to take care of yourself and have your blood pressure checked?

So often, we as caregivers, get so busy that we neglect caring for ourselves.  So, during Heart Health Month, think of yourself.
