One of my online friends from the Bead Journal Project has experimented with Speedball Speedy Cut Printing Block rubber, and has come up with an excellent fish stamp! Timaree, aka Freebird, read my grid stamp post awhile back, and mentioned that she’d been playing with the rubber stuff. You can read about how she made it and see what she made with it on her excellent blog, Freebirdsings. You can also follow her adventures with the Bead Journal Project!

Rather then investing in the rubber I’ve been using craft foam, which does require a very sharp knife as it tends to tear if the knife is dull, but its cheap and works OK….

I wonder if it’s possible to get the same level of detail – if you wanted really detailed stamps – with foam since it’s more textured. I’ve only done very plain, mostly geometrics, so I really don’t know the answer!

  3. Can I be a little gauche? Yipee, I made it on someone’s blog!!

Thankyou for considering my piece worthy of your blog. It really boosts my esteem.

Are you kidding? I *love* your work! Thanks so much for letting me share it with my readers :)
