Categorize Your Refrigerator – Find It Friday

CropperCapture[209] Do you spend wasted minutes digging through the contents of your refrigerator? Do things get lost and buried and then eventually end up going bad?

This has happened to me before, until I figured out that I needed to organize my refrigerator just like I do the rest of my home. By putting like items together.

Now, my refrigerator doesn’t look as perfect as the one pictured here by any means, but it’s close enough. Here’s what I do in my fridge and it works out great.

I designate each shelf or each area for: leftovers, drinks, cold snacks (pudding, yogurt), dairy, meats/sandwich making supplies, vegetables and fruits. I’m sure I left something out, but that’s the gist of my system.

Leftovers go on the bottom shelf on the left hand side. Always. Whenever it’s leftover night, or my husband and I are looking for something to eat for lunch, we know exactly where to look. This prevents leftovers from getting lost in “never to be eaten” land. :D

Having an organized refrigerator is an important part of my everyday life. It’s makes food preparation easier for me and it makes it easier on my family when they are looking for something to fill their tummies.

I must have an organized fridge, too. However, the other members of the family are unable to comprehend that things are not just placed willy-nilly in there.

That’s true in my house too Elizabeth. My husband understands though. He’s anal like me, lol!
