Celebrating the 80s With the Lifestyles Channel

So, other than what I posted earlier, I never came up with any grand ideas today for my 80s post. Sorry kids, I just can’t find anything cool enough for Offbeat that’s also 80s related. Believe me, I looked. The 80s + homes = almost a lost cause.
However, other bloggers in the Lifestyles Channel kicked out some totally wicked 80s posts – wait, was “wicked” an 80s slang word, or a 90s word? Hmmm, I have no idea. I think 80s. I’m sure you’ll let me know if I’m wrong.
Here’s what’s going on around the channel:
Tree Hugging Family – My co-blogger Peggy at Tree Hugging, has a cool post about her lovely Mork & Mindy rainbow belt, plus, how her cat feels about it.
Behind the Vines – Farley’s wondering if any 80s wine is worth it.
Marriage Actually – Cory & Kerrie one of b5media’s resident married couples discussing the finer points of knowing each other, past and present.
Quilting and Patchwork – Hint, quilting in the 80s was not all neon, just in case you’re wondering.
Dating Dames – Gayla has the market cornered on 80’s Flashbacks. Seriously, she’s got the 80s down pat, it’s like the girl was just there yesterday.
Thrifty Mommy – Oh man, I think Karen from Thrifty Mommy and the afore mentioned Gayla are having some sort of contest to see who loves the 80s more. Who do you think does?
Mother Earth’s Garden – Linette went with heart warming rather than scary 80s, and has a great story about learning to garden with her organic pop.
Supernanny Rules – 93 ways to tell if you’re stuck in a time warp (seriously 93 – I fit about three of them) and a little added surprise video that ‘totally’ defines the 80’s.
Kettle and Cup – What Marye drank before coffee – I for one am shocked!
Baking Delights – Marye reveals that she got married in 1980, and after that who knows? I was so surprised by the fact that she got married in 1980 that the rest of the post was a blur. Honestly this woman can’t be that old (look). If I had to guess at the contents of said post, I’d wager baking and the 80s are somehow involved.
Babylune – Eliza rounds up what your 80s baby may have been wearing.
Tangled Thread – Chloe’s got some 80s stylin’ shoes you can make if you’re so inclined.
And so ends our 80s tour, hopefully, we won’t be going back there for a long, long time.

LOL! Jennifer. I am sorry to shock you…I think I will post an 80s pic…I did not learn to love coffee until I was 25.
I got married a little less than a month before my 20th birthday and we will have been married 28 years the 29th.
You’re so funny! I did live them just yesterday
I truly can’t be THIS old!
I did enjoy the 80’s SO much though. As for looking like your babysitter – I think you would have been one of those kids that would have been my favorite to care for.
I don’t use Aqua Net on my hair anymore, but I seriously think Deb could do a round up for 100 uses for Aqua Shield and have a winner.
Marye, I think I was asking for black coffee by the age of four or so. You look darn good for your age, actually so do you Gayla.
My babysitters were so cool, so you would have been in good company. I’m not sure how, but my mom must have put out an ad at the local high school that said, “Only the hip apply” because they all had that cool 80s fashion, cool picture of their cool boyfriends, and total 80s speak.
Also, That Deb idea is awesome. I’m going to force her to do that list post.
Well whenever you want to do a roundup of the 70s I am sure that I will be the only b5 blogger there..geez I feel old now..thanks. :p
