Celebrity Botox Confessions

Botox Injections Are All the Rage in HollywoodIt’s cheaper than plastic surgery and faster to boot. But is beauty really worth injecting Botulinum Toxin A, the same toxin found in botulism, a kind of food poisoning that can be fatal? The answer more and more is a resounding “Yes,” especially in Hollywood.

In an article in last week’s issue of People Magazine, Virginia Madsen (whom you may know and love from such big screen roles as “Dangerous Woman” in A Prairie Home Companion and such small screen parts as the mom in both Brave New Girl and Just Ask My Children) has openly admitted to using Botox.

According to Access Hollywood, she’s going to be teaming up with the National Women’s Health Resource Center on a campaign called “Keep the Wisdom. Lose the Lines.” aimed at educating women about Botox and other injected cosmetic treatments (collagen comes to mind).

Madsen’s not the only celeb on the Botox train, though. These folks have been named by Botox-Cosmetic-Surgery.com among famous folks who’ve supposedly undergone the treatment:

  • Annie Potts
  • Cher
  • Elizabeth Hurley
  • Geri Hallowell (a.k.a. Ginger Spice)
  • Joan Rivers
  • Kim Cattrall
  • Kylie Minogue
  • Madonna
  • Ryan Seacrest
  • Sylvester Stallone

Have you tried Botox? Would you? Weigh in — leave a comment!

And as easy and inexpensive as dermal fillers (read: stuff you inject under the skin to improve your appearance), I can understand the popularity. [...]
