Celebrity parenting on reality TV

I was reading the Babylune post Exploiting Your Babies for Money when I came upon something that reminded me why:

a. I don’t like watching reality TV, especially with celebrities.

b. I don’t like watching reality TV with kids in it because it makes me hate the parents.

c. I think pop culture is turning people into blathering idiots who care more about their image than the quality of their choices.

d. I hate the fact that people who are famous somehow think they add value to others’ lives beyond their “wow, they’re screwed up more than I am” factor.

Basically, Dina Lohan (mother of Lindsay Lohan) was screening a porno movie with her 14 year old daughter watching.

Next scene shows Dina looking at a video of what’s suppose to be “Lindsay Lohan Sex Tape,” and Ali is leaning over to check it out.

Really, Dina? Watching porn with a 14 year old? That doesn’t make me want to watch your show, it makes me feel sorry for your kids and think you’re a piece of crap.

Am I alone on this?

  1. Eliza says:

Thanks for the linky love, I just can’t believe what some celebrities will do to get that fame. I’ll be doing more on this over the weekend.

  2. You’re definitely not alone in this. The Lohan’s decisions are definitely something they need to evaluate. It’s no wonder Lindsay turned out the way she did.

The only reality tv show I care for is John & Kate Plus 8. They’re real people trying to make life work with 8 kids. I can’t imagine how hard that must be.
