Celebrity Weddings

Hollywood
The latest celebrity wedding has bit the dust. This one, Eddie Murphy’s two week marriage to Tracey Edmonds. Though, it appears that the private ceremony was never legally binding to begin with.

What it is with Hollywood that makes for bad marriages? I’m gonna through a few theories out, and let’s see what sticks:

Theory #1
The pressure of life in the celebrity spotlight is just too much. Having every move documented and broadcast around the globe is just too much for any relationship to bear.

Theory #2
There really aren’t that many goofy marriages, it’s just that they all make headlines. Sort of a spin on the Theory #1. It figures there are a number of normal celebrity marriages, they just don’t make headlines; and there are also a number of goofy marriages among us unknowns, but they don’t make headlines either.

Theory #3
(I think this is where I’m leaning.) The presence money and attention beyond any realistic proportion brings out the worst judgment in many young people. Sycophants who do nothing but stroke the egos of young celebrities destroy their ability to make wise decisions. The media spotlight is addictive, and it creates a compulsion in these celebrities to act imprudently in order to garner the attention desired by the addiction.

What do you think?
