Change your work habits, and, lose weight?
Penelope Trunk at the Brazen Careerist, has an interesting article, Lose ten pounds in two weeks by changing how you work.
She describes how 3 changes made to how she works helped her lose weight quickly: she stopped letting work slip until the last minute, she stopped checking e-mail when she was with her kids, and, she stopped working late at night.
At first, I thought, “How can you get anything done like that?” But, I quickly realized that it’s sound advice, and, like she says, it boils down to self-discipline.
There’s also a certain amount of making like Nike, and, “just doing” it, and, that’s something I need to work on. I have chronic perfectionism paralysis, I tend not to do anything until I feel like I have time to do it “just right”.
Since I’m not a full-time web worker, I may have some late nights doing this kind of work, so I can do my “real” job during the day, and, tend to the children in the evenings. But, these work habit pointers are “food” (heh) for thought, and, can be applied to any type of job.

Interesting theory. I’d love to lose 10 pounds (at least) but i can’t get everything done for my “real job” unless i work late, check e-mails at home, and i do my best but i have to prioritize and sometimes work doesn’t get done ’til the last minute. As you say - food for thought. I’ll go check out the site you have linked.

Penelope is brilliant. I just love that she always has a funny and interesting take on things thata others haven’t thought of yet.
